About Yamiko ♡

My name is Emily, based in Brisbane - Australia. I run my little art business from home alongside my trusty partner, two cats, and puppy. Together, we do everything from creating hand-drawn designs to packaging orders to posting on social media!

As a full-time art teacher, I aimed to develop my own creative style and dedicate more time to art that I like and enjoy making. This led me to starting my own art business, Yamiko, in 2021 and running my stall at local markets and events.

Here is Loki, the shop-keeper!
This is generally how I set up my display for markets. So far, I have attended several events across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, including Toasty Art Market, Supanova, Genki Market, and the Cat Lovers Festival in Sydney.

If you are an event organiser and would like me to apply for your upcoming artist market, please reach out via my email:

The name 'Yamiko' is inspired by my two cats at home - Yams and Loki - a combination which encapsulates the coziness and vibrancy that these two provide in my day-to-day life. After some consideration of what the branding and mascot for Yamiko should be, I decided on a green dragon theme inspired by my love of Dungeons & Dragons.

Things that truly inspire me are the handmade qualities of art, whether it is drawn by hand or digitally, sculpted or designed by artists and realised into physical products. I enjoy creative variety, but my art mostly reflects cute pastel designs: cats, critters, and all things soft.

I create various merchandise featuring adorable characters, such as stickers, pins, ceramics, art prints, memo pads, keychains, tote bags, and much more in future. Moving forward, I would love to expand Yamiko and continue designing cute merch!

Feel free to get in touch - let me know what you think of my brand and designs, or let me know what you'd like to see from the shop in the future!

Thank you for stopping by!
